What Is Juice and What Is a Juicer?

Juice is liquid present in almost all fruits and vegetables; and the idea of extracting it from them, leaving the pulp behind, is the function of a juicer. For carrot, instance, orange, apple, sugarcane, bottle gourd, pineapple, etc. are all juicy and can be used with the juicer, however, pear, banana, okra, bitter gourd, eggplant, etc. cannot be used in this regard. An ideal juice is just the extract, in liquid form, with no adulteration obtained by mixing water, sugar, preservatives or taste enhancers to it, but it is very difficult to find it in the purest form these days. Traditional juicers were manual, where an individual had to crush and squeeze the peeled fruit with his/her bare hands or an ordinary manual machine. With the evolution of technology, we have a plethora of juicers invented now. They all change in various aspects such as ease of usage, cost, timeliness, etc.

Types of Juicers

There are several types of juicers present in the market; both online and offline. Out of those let’s discuss 3 types of juicers available, categorized, and based on many functions, here:

  • Centrifugal Juicers

This is the fastest among all; of those that are being talked about here. It takes less than a couple of minutes to prepare a glass of juice using this juicer. In addition to this, it’s very quick to assemble, disassemble and clean all parts after the operation. This type of juicer doesn’t require any pre-cutting of fruits and vegetables. Its cutter is so sharp that whole fruits and vegetables can be crushed in seconds, and then pulp and juice are separated accordingly. Despite being so quick and most affordable, its end product is not very nutritious. Due to the heat generated during quickly made juice, it degrades the taste as well as the nutritious value.

  • Masticating Juicers

Masticating juicers aka slow juicers have too many prerequisites before using the juicer itself. Fruits and vegetables need to be chopped to smaller pieces and then fed to the machine which will then act slowly on it. It will squeeze the fruit, separate pulp from the juice, and then eventually pulp will be separately stored in a container. Unlike centrifugal juicers, these don’t have any heat associated with them, hence, this squeezes the material slowly. Since there is no heat involved, the quality of the juice made by such juicers is better as they retain all enzymes and antioxidants. In addition to all this, this can also be used as a food processor or grinder. The only concerns with these machines are their maintenance and cost. They are very high in cost and after every practice, it will need to be properly cleaned which is difficult.

  • Triturating Juicers

These types of juicers are the most efficient of all. It squeezes every single drop of juice from the stuff. The reason of its efficiency is its build and mechanism. These are built with double gears, assembled next to each other. It can be used to process almost anything and it acts unbiasedly with all of them; be it green leafy vegetables, fruits or vegetables. The yield will be most with least and completely dry waste. These can even be used to grind nuts and seeds. Well, everything comes with a price; hence these are the most expensive kind of juicers found. Its yield will be nutrition dense and stable but will take you a very long time to clean up the machine as it has several parts and needs to be disassembled completely before cleaning.

Why Do I Prefer Triturating Juicers?

I am obsessed with healthy eating habits. I take juices every single day religiously. In addition to this, I keep one day a week for detox; that day I only drink all sorts of juices and do not eat anything at all. Now, all these can be achieved with any juicer, but the most important fact is I am not very keen on manual efforts. Centrifugal juicers will have less nutritious juice so that is not acceptable to me. In the case of using a masticating juicer, I will have to do my homework before using the machine’s technology. Hence, the triturating juicer is the best suited to me, I don’t have to chop fruits and vegetables, even if I forget to cut its roots, it doesn’t matter to this beast, it will crush them all. And yet I am getting the best quality fluid for my health.

Conclusion

To sum it up, a juicer is an important technology in your health journey. Do not consume preserved juices which are found in shops in the name of fresh fruit. It’s always better to get one at home. To search for a juicer, go through every aspect of it such as budget, the pace of processing, nutritious value, prerequisite with usage, etc. and set your priorities, what do you need? Which is the most suitable for your requirements? Once the type of juicer is decided, make sure to devote some time to research on the brand. Electrical equipment, at times, can be hazardous, so always buy a good and reputed brand with good resale value and warranty. The more we take care of our things, the better they take care of us, so never leave it unattended, and always wrap it up nicely and effectively.
